What Causes Dry Skin Around Nose?

If you have dry skin around nose, this looks very prominent and the people can easily notice it even if you have tried to cover it up with makeup application. In some cases, make up application can make your problem even worse and your dry skin gets more visible. Therefore, makeup is not the solution for this problem; however, if you apply some good moisturizer on the affected skin area on regular basis, this may help you get rid of this embarrassing condition.

Most Common Causes of Dry Skin on Nose

There might a number of causes of dry skin on nose and some of most common are mentioned here;

  • Psoriasis

Psoriasis is a very common skin condition in which red flaky patches appear on the skin because of continuous growth of cells. Psoriasis is considered to be the most common cause of scaling and itchy on the nose. To treat psoriasis, the topical medications are usually suggested which are also available in form of creams.

  • Dehydration

Another cause of dry flaky skin around nose is considered dehydration. This is really important that your body be fully hydrated to help your skin stay healthy and soft.

  • Hot Water

If you clean your facial area with hot water, this will make your facial areas dry and dull and this is because of the fact that hot water sucks the moisture from your skin. Therefore, you must avoid the use of hot water while cleansing your skin especially the facial area.

  • Alcohol

The use of alcohol can cause to develop dry skin under nose. It has also been noticed that some skin care products such as moisturizers, lotions, cosmetics and cleansers also contain alcohol which leads to dryness of the skin especially under the nose. Those who are suffering from eczema, psoriasis or some other skin problems, should never use such products.

  • Soaps & Cleansers

Soaps and cleansers may also cause dryness especially dry skin under nose but it is all up to the type of soaps and cleansers you are using. If your cleanser contains harsh chemicals or alcohol, you should immediately quit using it to avoid dry skin.

  • Dry Air

Dry air can also cause dry red skin around nose especially in cold weather or when you go out under the sun. If you are having dry air, you can use a humidifier inside your house which will help you restore the moisturizer back into the air and this will result in restoration of moisture in the skin. In summer, if you have to spend lots of your time outdoor, you should wear sunscreen which will save your skin from the ultraviolet rays of the sun.

If you can avoid the above mentioned conditions which cause dry skin, you can easily get rid of this problem. Make sure that you always apply some good moisturizer on your skin and around your nose as this will greatly help you restore the beauty of your skin.
